ASCPVerify

Terms of use

These terms apply when you create or activate an ASCPVerify account and whenever you use the service. They are written to be read, so each section starts with the short version. The full text underneath is what you are agreeing to.

Version 2026-09-01, effective 1 September 2026. How we handle personal information is set out in the ASCP privacy policy.

1

Who we are and what these terms cover

In short: ASCPVerify is provided by CORGI Technical Services Limited, which operates the Association of Safety and Compliance Professionals (ASCP). Ticking the box at sign-up means you agree to these terms.

ASCPVerify ("the service") is provided by CORGI Technical Services Limited ("CORGI"), which operates the Association of Safety and Compliance Professionals ("ASCP"). In these terms "ASCP", "we" and "us" mean CORGI Technical Services Limited. Our contact address is First Floor, 11 Campbell Court, Bramley, Tadley, Hampshire, RG26 5EG. [Company number to be confirmed.]

These terms form the agreement between you and us for your use of the service, including any account we prepare for you from a pre-registration or from records ASCP already holds. By accepting them at sign-up, or by using the service, you agree to be bound by them. If you do not agree, do not activate or use the service.

Paid services, including ASCPVerify Assessed and places bought by organisations, have additional terms shown at the point of purchase. Where they differ from these terms, the purchase terms apply to that purchase.

2

What ASCPVerify is, and is not

In short: It is a professional competence record that you own. It is not a qualification, a licence, regulatory approval, or a statement that you or your employer comply with any law or standard.

ASCPVerify is a record of your qualifications, professional learning (CPD), Practice Evidence and supporting files, together with a readiness checklist and a self-declaration against the criteria ASCP publishes for a pathway. It exists to bring your evidence together and to help you see what is present and what is missing.

The service is not a qualification, a licence, a certificate of competence or an assessment of your competence unless we say so expressly under the terms of ASCPVerify Assessed. It is not approval by any regulator, and nothing in it states or implies that you, your employer or any organisation complies with any law, regulation or standard, including the Competence and Conduct standard. It supports readiness. It does not decide compliance, and it does not replace your employer's duties or your own professional judgement.

3

Your account

In short: One account per person, in your own name, kept secure by you. The account is yours and moves with you between employers.

You must be at least 18 and provide accurate information about yourself. You may hold one account, in your own name. If we prepared an account for you, activate it with the email address ASCP holds for you; we may ask you to confirm your identity before releasing pre-loaded records.

Sign-in is handled by our identity provider. Keep your sign-in details secure, do not share them, and tell us promptly if you believe someone else has used your account. You are responsible for activity on your account until you tell us otherwise.

Your account belongs to you as an individual, not to your employer. It stays with you when you change jobs, and no organisation can see your record unless you choose to join its network (section 7).

4

Pre-loaded records

In short: ASCP may add records it already holds about your ASCP learning and qualifications. Each shows its source and date. You confirm or flag each one, and we do not promise the set is complete.

Where ASCP holds records of learning or qualifications connected to you, we may add them to your record before or after activation, matched to you by the email address or name ASCP holds. Every pre-loaded record shows where it came from and when it was exported. You must review each one and confirm it or flag it as wrong.

Pre-loaded records are provided as a starting point. We do not warrant that they are complete, current or free of error, and their absence from your record does not mean that a qualification or course does not exist. When you flag a record, the original source entry is kept for provenance and the matter is reviewed by ASCP. You may add your own records for anything we do not hold.

5

Your record and what you put in it

In short: Your content is yours. Keep it true, keep it your own work, and keep other people's personal details out of it. You give us permission to store and show it to the people you authorise.

You own the content you add to your record, including files. You grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to store, process, display and reproduce that content for the purposes of providing the service to you, showing it to people you authorise (such as a network you join, an assessor for a service you have applied for, or ASCP support staff whose access is logged), producing exports for you, and complying with law.

Everything you record must be true and must be your own work. Practice Evidence must describe your own contribution and must not overstate it. You must have the right to upload any file you attach.

Do not include personal information about residents, tenants, colleagues or other people unless it is necessary and you are permitted to share it, and anonymise it where you can. Do not upload commercially sensitive information belonging to your employer or clients without permission. Use the restricted marking on Practice Evidence where an entry needs it. We may remove content that breaks these terms or the law, and we may suspend an account that repeatedly does so. We do not routinely monitor content.

Files are limited to the types and sizes shown in the service. Keep your own copies of anything important: the service lets you export your record, and you should do so before closing your account.

6

Statuses and the Shield

In short: Record Active means you keep a record. ASCPVerify Ready is your own self-declaration, always labelled as such. ASCPVerify Assessed is only awarded after independent assessment. Anyone relying on a status does so at their own risk.

Record Active means you have an account and are maintaining a record. It says nothing about your competence.

ASCPVerify Readyis a self-declaration that you make. It records that you have reviewed the published readiness criteria for a pathway and believe you meet them, supported by your record and by evidence you hold elsewhere. It lasts twelve months from the date you declare. ASCP does not check or verify a self-declaration, and the service always presents it with the words "Self-declared". You must present it the same way: you must not describe an ASCPVerify Ready status as verified, assessed, accredited, certified, approved or independently confirmed. We may withdraw a Ready status if it was declared on false information, if evidence it relied on is removed, or if the criteria it was declared against are withdrawn.

ASCPVerify Assessed is awarded only after an independent assessment by ASCP under the terms of that service, is valid for the period stated when it is awarded, and may be withdrawn under those terms.

A status is a description of your record on the date it was given. It is not a warranty of competence or of compliance with any law or standard. Anyone, including an employer, client or regulator, who relies on a status does so at their own risk and remains responsible for their own checks and duties.

The ASCPVerify name, the Shield and its status treatments are ASCP's marks. You may show your status as the service displays it, including by sharing a verification page or an export of your record. You must not reproduce the Shield elsewhere, alter it, or use it in a way that suggests a status you do not hold.

7

Networks: employers and organisations

In short: Joining a network is your choice. Its administrators can then see your qualifications, CPD, Practice Evidence and status, but never your files. You can leave at any time.

Organisations using ASCPVerify may run a network. You may be invited to join one, or ask to join one matched to your email domain. Joining is always your decision. Membership lets the network's administrators see your qualifications, CPD, Practice Evidence and status. It does not give them access to your evidence files or your sign-in.

You can leave a network at any time, which removes its access immediately. A "being found" setting controls whether an organisation matching your email domain can see that you have an account; you can switch it off.

An organisation that pays for a service on your behalf, such as an assessment place, does not thereby acquire any right in your record. The service and any status remain yours. We are not a party to your employment or engagement, and we are not responsible for how an organisation uses information you have chosen to share with it. Organisations agree to use that information only for legitimate purposes connected with workforce competence and in line with their own legal duties.

8

Acceptable use

In short: Be truthful, be yourself, and do not interfere with the service or other people's records.

You must not:

  • impersonate anyone, or create a record for someone other than yourself;
  • enter false, misleading or exaggerated records or declarations;
  • attempt to access another person's record or account, or an administrative function you are not authorised to use;
  • upload malicious code, or probe, scan or interfere with the security or operation of the service;
  • copy, scrape or extract data from the service other than your own record through the features we provide;
  • use the service for anything unlawful, or in a way that brings ASCP or the profession into disrepute.

9

Intellectual property

In short: ASCP owns the service, the criteria and the marks. You have a personal licence to use it for your own record.

We and our licensors own the service, its software, design, content, readiness criteria, frameworks, and the ASCP and ASCPVerify names and marks. We grant you a personal, non-transferable, revocable licence to use the service to keep and share your own record in accordance with these terms. Nothing in these terms transfers any of our rights to you, other than this licence. If you send us suggestions about the service, we may use them without obligation to you.

10

Availability, changes and support

In short: The free service is provided as available. We will keep improving it, and we will tell you about changes that matter.

We provide the free parts of the service with reasonable care and skill, as available. We may change, add to or withdraw features, and we may suspend the service for maintenance or for reasons outside our control. Where a change materially reduces what the service does, we will give you reasonable notice in the service or by email. Paid services carry the service levels stated in their own terms.

Support is available through the contact details at the end of these terms. We do not promise that the service will be uninterrupted or error-free, and you should keep copies of anything you cannot afford to lose.

11

Suspending and ending your account

In short: You can close your account whenever you like. We can suspend or close it if these terms are broken. Export your record first.

You may close your account at any time by contacting us. Export your record first: once an account is closed, its statuses end and the record is deleted or retained in accordance with the privacy policy and our legal obligations. Records connected with an assessment, a payment or an audit trail may be kept where the law or the assessment terms require it.

We may suspend or close your account, and withdraw any status, if you break these terms, if a declaration or record is found to be false, if we are required to by law, or if the account has been inactive for a long period and we have given you notice. We will tell you why, and you can contact us to put your side.

12

Our responsibility to you

In short: We are responsible for the service we provide. We are not responsible for decisions others make in reliance on your record, or for content you or others upload. Your legal rights are not affected.

Nothing in these terms limits or excludes our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for anything else that cannot be limited or excluded by law. If you use the service as a consumer, nothing in these terms affects your statutory rights.

Subject to that, we are not liable for: any decision made by you, an employer, a client, a regulator or anyone else in reliance on your record or a status; content uploaded by you or by others; the acts of an organisation whose network you have joined; loss of content you have not kept a copy of; or any indirect or consequential loss, loss of profit, business, contracts or opportunity. For the free parts of the service our total liability to you is limited to £100. For a paid service our total liability is limited to the fees you paid for that service in the twelve months before the event giving rise to the claim.

13

Your responsibility to others

In short: If your content or a false statement causes a claim against us, you will be responsible for it, so far as the law allows.

You are responsible for the content you add and the statements you make. To the extent permitted by law, you will compensate us for losses, costs and claims we suffer because content you added breaks these terms or another person's rights, or because a record or declaration you made was false or misleading.

14

How ASCPVerify handles your information

In short: The ASCP privacy policy applies. This section adds the points specific to the service, so you know what happens to your record before you accept.

CORGI Technical Services Limited is the controller of the personal information in the service, and the ASCP privacy policy explains your rights and how to exercise them. Specific to ASCPVerify:

  • your profile, record entries and evidence files are stored with our hosting and storage providers, and your sign-in is handled by our identity provider, each under contract with us and with appropriate safeguards for any transfer outside the UK;
  • we keep your ASCP membership and contact details in step with ASCP's customer relationship system, so that your record and your relationship with ASCP describe the same person;
  • we send transactional emails about your account, such as activation, reminders before a status expires, and the outcome of a service you have applied for;
  • information you choose to share with a network is visible to that network's administrators for as long as you remain a member;
  • access to your record by ASCP staff for support, assessment or a network relationship is logged;
  • you can export your record from the service, and you can ask us to correct or delete personal information as the privacy policy describes.

[Owner to confirm the list of processors and locations against the privacy policy before launch.]

15

Changes to these terms

In short: If we change these terms in a way that matters, you will be asked to accept the new version when you next sign in.

We may update these terms. Each version carries a date. If a change is material, the service will ask you to read and accept the new version before you continue; if you do not accept, you may export your record and close your account. Minor corrections take effect when published.

16

General

In short: English law applies. If any part of these terms cannot be enforced, the rest still stands.

These terms, the privacy policy and any purchase terms are the whole agreement between you and us about the service. If any part is found to be unenforceable, the rest continues to apply. A delay in enforcing a term is not a waiver of it. You may not transfer your rights under these terms; we may transfer ours to another company in our group or to a successor to the ASCP business, and will tell you if we do. No one other than you and us has any right to enforce these terms. These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction, without affecting any right you have as a consumer to bring proceedings where you live.
